Surf conditions at 6.10 a.m. on Sunday 31st August 2014:
That’s a much better start to the day!
A bright and pleasant morning is spreading across the coastline with only a light wind drifting in from the sea and plenty of cheery sunshine lighting up the two to three feet of sparkling surf.
That surf is just a bit bumpy because of the wind but it’s generally holding its shape and there are some peaks folding over quite nicely. The set waves are worth waiting for, the bigger ones having the strength to wall up a little better and push through the warp of that onshore wind. The wave faces are clean enough, there’s just that surface bump from the north westerly breeze.
Yep, it looks like we’re in for a fun day of surf in the sun!
And thanks to the Basement Restaurant in Padstow for cooking up yet another smackerooni of a fish dish last night. They are just getting better and better in there, aren’t they?
A very pleasant place to watch all the boats coming and going and bumping about too.
