CONSTANTINE:
That wind has dropped, a lot. But only for a while maybe. And how quickly the swell has dissipated too, although there is still a good three to four feet of lumpy, bumpy stuff rolling in. So, it's a quieter morning than we've seen all week, all silvery and bright but still with that threatening cover of thickish cloud. The surf is sloppy but okayish at high tide with four foot faces occasionally whomping in but you just know that there is way better elsewhere.
Thanks to Hilly for keeping us updated with the surf conditions on an hourly basis as he toured those 'special' winter breaks further down the county. Actually, Hilly has been on it lately. Seven hour drives to surf triple overhead north eastern breaks, three wave hold downs at Granny's, eight foot cape waves. So, when you see that Abacus (you can count on them!) taxi pull up at a break near you, I think that you can safely assume that he's checked most other places already, or, he might just have a fare!
The new Xcel and O'Neill Winter suits and boots and gloves - now in store!!
