WOW ! Everyones has been caught of guard by this one. ( New punchy E swell likely to develop from 2-3ft to 3ft during the day .... from one of our local well respected sites ). Swell jacked up today wth the incoming tide. Almost to cyclonic conditions. The kind of swell we expect after a few days of watching a low form up the coast. My theory is we 're not looking at the synoptic pressure charts anymore. I know for me my swell forecasting comes down to a quick glance at a colored bar graph. MSW on the money with size but i i usually factor in a subtraction. Not the case. May direction a biggy ,106 deg for reference . could just be focusing it on the Bay. Wind issues on the open side.
