THE EARLYBIRD SURF REPORT at 7.25 a.m. on Saturday 6th October 2012:
Ah, there we go, as soon as the wind changes and we start to enjoy clean conditions - the swell drops!
There's one to two feet of clean surf peaking and peeling around the bay, the wind lightly blowing straight offshore, from the East. There is just a little north to the wind which probably explains the chill bite but it's all crisp and clean and neat looking.
The sky is still pretty threatening after last night's downpours but it is already brightening up quite quickly and I'm guessing that we'll be enjoying bright and clear sunshine soon enough.
So, it's looking like small but clean fun for a Saturday at the beach. Especially if you have a longboard!
