Strong Onshore wind
Surf conditions at 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday 4th December 2012:
That wind is whistling through this morning, blasting out of the west north west, all cold and annoying and messing the surf up completely.
Quite big, five foot plus waves are shifting out of the half darkness but they're all mixed up, rippy and choppy waves.
It's not a fun place to be today and there's no sign of any improvement to come either.
I think that the far coast is the only place that may show any clean conditions but I'm not sure if there's enough swell getting around there?
The Vans Triple Crown at Sunset Beach, Hawaii leaped into action last night with Slater enjoying a 5'11 in chunky waves and John John styling. Follow the action at www.vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vansworldcupofsurfing2012/live
I'm out of here for a wee while so NO SURFCHECK until next week. Unless I feel like sending some piccies of glassy and warm reef breaks. Cheyne will open up for the weekend though, so why not drop in on him? You know he loves it.
And if you're stuck wondering about a useful pressie for that other surfer in your life, we have put together a little stocking for you, filled with those basic items that most surfers forget to buy but are always useful:
