Light Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 7.45 a.m. on Friday 4th January 2013:
Well, it is dry, which is a good starter and it's calm, which is always good too and the surf is rolling in, which is even gooderer.
The wind is light, breezing along from the south sou' west again, making for that sloppy bump on the wave faces and pushing those waves over just a little earlier than necessary. And some of those wave faces are a good four to maybe occasionally five feet.
It is quite setty , with gaps between those sets and gaps between the waves in the sets, so you have to wait. But that should be no bad thing, the wind is making for a wishy washy inside, so it's an easier paddle out in the lulls between those sets of waves.
So, a calm and mild morning is spreading over us, with maybe a glimpse of some brighter cracks in an otherwise very grey sky, offering us a little hope that it might brighten up, just a bit, later on.
Okay, so, burned out after the festive holiday?
