Surf conditions at 7.35 a.m. on Friday 11th January 2013:
That's a big old swell that's banging through this morning!
It's a calm morning, the sound of breaking waves and happy birdsong filling the air, the breeze gently breathing offshore, south south easterly, the dull and overcast sky gradually being replaced by something brighter.
So it should be good, it should be really good but the truth is that right now, with the tide half way out, it is too big for itself.
There are a few places, a couple not too far away either, that should be on fire this morning, so it is worth a little look around.
I think that we should be able to choose between thumping barrels, steady beach breaks or fun glidey, peeling ones with just a little looking around.
Those reefs should be on, T-one and D-bay should all have waves and maybe the Cribbar should see some action too. While the big wave boys are already down at Nazare in Portugal. Watch out for some epic shots from there soon enough!
Have a great day wherever you get in!
