Surf conditions at 7.35 a.m. on Friday 11th January 2013:
It has that glassy warp to it around here today, an indicator that it is probably just a little bigger than it might first look.
Three to four feet walls are pausing only briefly before exploding ashore. That is at half tide on the drop, so you have to think that it will get bigger on the incoming tide.
It might be good at low tide too though!
But there must be a whole heap of other places with just as good, if not better surf than here today and without having to use too much fuel to get there (although both North Devon and Wales seem to have been having great surf this last few days if the images on the Facebook are to be believed, if you do want a road trip!). It could just be worth having a little wander about, especially as it now looks like the sun is fighting its way through that cloud cover!
