Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on Friday 18th January 2013:
It's a chilly one again this morning but there's no snow here, just drizzle and dreariness so far! But it sounds like most of the rest of you are off work, out of school or just sliding in that white stuff!
The only sliding that we are going to be doing today is across those one to two feet, perfectly shaped little waves that are cracking through in the bay today. The wind isn't as strong (yet?) as was forecast but then the swell isn't as big either.
Both of those things could change with the tide, although it all looks pretty settled at the moment. That wind might develop little gusts and we are going to see the results of that deep depression soon enough but in the meantime, one to two feet of very nicely shaped little barrels will do fine!
Enjoy the snow the rest of you!
And so now we turn our attention to which boards we are going to stock in the shop for the coming season!
Cheyne reckons anything twin-fin, short, wide thick and floaty.
But what about the power brands; Merricks, Lost, Chilli etc, but are they worth the money? And then there are our old favourites too; Sol-Life, Meyerhoffer, 7S, Webber etc..
What do you think?
You know the address (firstname.lastname@example.org) so go on, tell us about the board of your dreams!
And speaking of surfboards,I'm having a clear out at home, so if anyone wants a 9'1 Southpoint Bonga 2 model (Schaper) then I'm whazzing mine out at £325? It's pretty immaculate etc, etc.. I'll get some piccies up sometime.
And we still have that used 9'4 Robert August wood veneer Surf Tech up on the ceiling. That's about £500. We also have a bunch of great new longboards too, by McTavish, Meyerhoffer and others.
If you can get here through all that snow that is out there (not here!) then we'll do another POP UP SALE this weekend with big price drops on all wetsuits and surfboards and loads of other offers (which we'll make up as we go along!).
