Surf conditions at 7.45 a.m. on Tuesday 29th January 2013:
It's barreling through here this morning too!
Big swell lines are lining up, held by that offshore until probably a moment too late before leaping at the beach. The set waves are trying to touch both headlands, mostly closing out with mighty whomps, that odd one staying open for maybe long enough but probably not!
There are some big and gnarly, storm waves crunching through here this morning!
Which makes you think of those tucked away little spots, somewhere sheltered from the storm (the wind is forecast to strengthen through this afternoon!), somewhere that only breaks now and then, lucky to be caught good more than once or twice every few years. And there are a couple of such spots nearby.
With an early afternoon low tide, I think it could be time for a trek....
