Surf conditions at 7.35 a.m. on Sunday 10th February 2013:
It's a strangely and surprisingly pleasant morning, in spite of the rain and dullness. It's all calm and quiet, muffled birdsong in the background, the roll of surf echoing across the bay. There is just the teeniest tug of Spring too, those budding Daffs and Snowdrops, pinpoints of hope scattered in the greyness.
The wind is light, still onshore from the west but it's not affecting the surf too much, yet.
There's a couple to three feet of surf managing to stay lined up, a bit bumpy but keeping its shape.
Unfortunately I don't think that it's going to last too long, the forecasts are all showing a swing to the north west as the wind strength increases.
But right now, it's a calm morning with a grey sky, grey fields, grey sea. But there is still something attractive about it all.
