Surf conditions at 7.20 a.m. on Friday 22nd February 2013:
Whoa, that's a sight! It's not fully doing it just yet but you can see that it is going to be sooo good!
Okay, so the wind has dropped in strength a lot, it is still brisk but not stupidly so as it has been, while a proper, big fetch, open but so far still quite small swell is caressing our shores.
There are big spaces between those small but incredibly perfectly shaped waves and the sets, which are a good ten minutes apart, are A-framing at three times the size of the inbetweenies.
Geez, it's going to be so great later!
The swell is aiming north so the north end of the breaks seem to be getting most advantage. With low tide not for another couple of hours, I think that there's time for a leisurely breakfast before waxing the boards!
Oh, did I mention that it was -2 deg C! And it is a little overcast out there? Oh and that wind is still biting!
Other than that though, we should be enjoying some great, great surf by this afternoon (and you can just tell that the sun is going to come out soon enough!).
With the school half term holidays coming to a close, the kids have been frothing in the surf that we've been enjoying this week! And to celebrate the groms being on the loose, we have been doing a little 'GROM SALE!'.
No, we haven't been selling the little beggars, we have reduced all of our Grom lines by 25%!! So, if the little surfer in your life is keen, then now is the time to check out our boards, wetsuits, boots and gloves, clothing and all sorts! But get on it quick, it has to end this weekend!
We're open daily from 10 till 4 so drop in on us this week!
Also, for all the young 'uns who are looking to push their surfing up a level or two, here's a big opportunity; Tom Butler is putting on a Groms' performance training camp in sunny Portugal over Easter! Check it out at tbsurfing.com/images/site/Tom%20Butler%20Grom%20Weeks.pdf
