3ft Light Offshore wind * * *
Surf conditions at 6.55 a.m. on Saturday 9th March 2013: There are some really very pleasant waves out there this morning, a three to four foot rolling swell being gently held up by a light south, south easterly (offshore) wind while that sun bursts over the far horizon, shining bright and cheerful. The set waves are shuffling in in groups of three or four at a time, a fair old wait between and it all looks a little slo-mo, usually a good sign! With low water not for a couple of hours, that wind forecast to stay light and veering more directly offshore and that cheery sunshine warming the place up, you have to think that we're in for a pretty great day of waves and weather! And it's that time of year when we start to receive the first of our Summer stock deliveries. It's fun trying to balance that need for winter wetsuit stuff as well as the desire to get new things for the soon to be here warmer season. And, as always, space is at a premium in our little store. So we are going to be clearing all of our thermal vests this weekend, 30% off all of them, hooded and unhooded. And we'll be knocking a good 25% off those winter suits that are left with some of them sailing out at HALF PRICE too! So, pop in and see us over the weekend for another super bargain, we're here 10 till 4, Saturday and Sunday. Only the opening four heats of the elimination Round 2 were run yesterday at the Quik Pro as the world's best surfers battled one another in the punchy two to three feet waves at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast in Australia. Yep, the whole comp upped sticks and scurried from Kirra back round to Snapper Rocks, ready for a pretty short-lived affair. Dane chucked a ripping Adriano de Souza out of the comp while Taj and Joel dealt with Willian Cardoso and Brent Dorrington respectively. Josh Kerr beat Pat Gudauskas in a close one.
