Light Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 7.05 a.m. on Saturday 16th March 2013:
It's a surprisingly bright and cheerful, calm morning with a half decent three foot and maybe just a bit bigger surf rolling through.
That surf is a little sloppy with waves almost overlapping here and there but the wind is light and surprisingly almost offshore and so there are those set waves getting a little hollower and peeling off.
You have to pick 'em but they are there!
An hour or so ahead of high tide it all looks like fun in the sun but yesterday started off brightly too! Although today I think that, although we'll be seeing a shower or two, we should be able to enjoy some more brighter stuff, while the surf is probably going to stay a little sloppy and bumpy on this side of the headland.
But it is okay though!
It's that time of year when those weary travellers, those surf searchers, the endless Summer seekers, gradually return to these chilly shores.
Rhys (Barfield) has just landed back from a teenager's dream of a trip away, a month on the Gold Coast, overlapping into the start of the Quik Pro, surfing in boardies and mixing with the top guys on a daily basis.
Here's a little edit of his visit to the epi-centre of global surfing: vimeo.com/61471422
