Howling Offshore wind
Surf conditions at 7.25 a.m. on Thursday 21st March 2013:
Sheesh it's windy out there this morning. And wet. And flat.
Apart from that though....
There's a vicious south easterly blow tearing across the beach, hurling sand into the faces of the mini-ripples that are crashing ashore. Those little wavelets are no bigger than a few inches, almost blown back by the force of the wind.
So, looking skywards there is no sign of any brightness coming our way yet and looking seaward there is no sign of any swell coming our way yet either. But that will change. The wind will ease back and a new swell will gradually show itself.
We should be seeing waves by this afternoon, or maybe this evening, the wind is going to stay blowing through the night.
