About Gilgo Beach
A far cry from the rest of Long Island, this stretch of coast is made up of long, sparsely populated barrier islands, consisting mostly of state and town beach parks. Gilgo is loaded with surfing history. Given the right conditions, the peaks can be hollow, but there is usually someplace better nearby.
