About Ponte Vedra

Ponte Vedra is a very secluded 10-mile stretch of coast just south of Jax Beach. Mostly shorebreaks, this area works best on a S swell with high tide. There are a few places to surf, beginning with Crossroads to the south. The break shifts every few years from an outside, low-tide break to an inside, high-tide break, depending on the frequency of storms and the severity of northeasters and hurricanes. The local consensus is that Crossroads is usually slightly bigger than most other spots in P.V., but not necessarily better.
