There's no denying it has been one hell of a season for Nazare. Yesterday, the WSL released its full list of Big Wave Awards nominees, and of those 25 that made the cut (not including the men's and women's performance awards), Nazare is featured nine times, falling just shy of Jaws' 12 entries.

It's not surprising that Nazare features so prominently. There's a dedicated crew charging every swell, legitimising Praia do Norte as a solid paddle wave. Last week, we summed up some of the top moments from the season at Nazare, which you can view by going HERE.

But it is still Jaws that takes the nod, with almost 50 per cent of all entries belonging to the world's favourite big wave spot. Remember Ian Walsh's tube during the comp there? Of course, it was one of the best tubes ever ridden in big waves. That's in the mix. Cotty's wipeout too, along with a few others you may not have seen over the past 12 months. And it's refreshing to see a return of Aaron Gold in the fold as well. You can read what he's been up to recently by going HERE.

Now, let's run through the nominees.
