Whether or not Skeleton Bay is forecast to be at its best, the allure of unrivalled tube time still compels many to down tools. So when a set of average numbers appeared on our charts a week ago, we knew there'd still be some making the trip in the hope of eyeballing the inside of those coveted brown water cylinders. "I think it was around my eighth trip there and it was pretty good but not as good as swells before. The sand is always changing there so you never know what you're going to get. I did the mission with a couple of mates and there were around 30-40 people in but the spot is so spread out it isn't a hassle. There were much more people on the good swells before."
