November's Winter Session Category Winners

Updated 3103d ago

We've crowned the two overall winners from this month, but the award ceremony's not over yet. Each month, not only do we select two winners to go to the grand final, but we have five categories up for the taking.

Five categories need five winners and below are our November winners...

Out in the Cold Supported by C-Skins

Taz Knight's trip to the tip of Scotland was undoubtedly the coldest session this month saw. 5mm of neoprene, hood, boots and gloves, Taz had it all covered in his chilly edit bagging him a new C-Skins Wired winter wetsuit.

POV Award Supported by GoPro

Vincent dedicated his whole edit to point of view footage in one of the funnest looking sessions imaginable. This was the session that got us itching to surf and for his efforts he'll receive a brand new GoPro Hero 4 Black, GoPro's latest and greatest creation.

"I'm sure I broke my barrel record, the waves were pumping every day," recalls Vincent. "Before the weather become stormy, I really wanted to film my barrels visions, just to not forget how good the surf was."

High Performance Award Supported by Fourth Surfboards

You can't argue with a WCT surfer charging the best Hossegor you've ever seen. The edit may only be 90 seconds long but keeping track of the number of barrels Flores makes in this edit remains quite a task. A Fourth surfboard, fresh from the hands of shaper Luke Hart will be on its way.

Commitment Award Supported by Surf Ears

Egor's solo mission up north in the cold had to lock down the Commitment Award.

"A chart popped up late, and so I travelled solo in my van through the night and thankfully the next morning was on. I love trying to catch swells on road trips around the UK, but to score glassy, perfect, hollow lefts on a sunny day with no one else in sight was pretty special."

His over night drive plus a lonely night's sleep in his van has earned Egor a supply of Surf Ear's ear plugs.

Innovation in Filming Award Supported by SP Gadgets

The multiple angles of Taz's barrel fest barrels also wins him the Innovation in Filming Award. Who doesn't love two angles of the same barrel being threaded? Taz will also receive an accessories pack from SP Gadgets.

All winners will be contacted shortly and we'll get the prizes to you as soon as humanly possible.

December is now underway, and winners of the same categories need to be chosen, so to be in with a chance of winning in this months group, send your 90 second edit via wetransfer.com to: winter@magicseaweed.com and we'll do the rest.
