It's been a few years since we've seen a cut like this from Craig Anderson – but boy, was it worth the wait.
The Quieter You Are The More You Can Hear follows Ando over an 18 month period, spent chasing swells all over the globe. The result is this 20 minute semi-sequel to Welcome Elsewhere, 2016's diamond of a movie.
And can you believe it's been three years since that was first footed around the internet? That's not to say the most stylish surfer around has laid down tools though, oh no.
“I ran around the world chasing waves, working on this project,” he tells MSW. “Did two separate trips to Europe, first one being with Brendon Gibbens and Dane Reynolds awhile back to Portugal and another being to Iceland and Ireland more recently.
“Never had been to these locations in Europe so was amazing to travel to new places and surf waves I've never surfed before. The standard mission to Indonesia for last year's giant swell when the boat went over the falls in Nias. I ventured up to Kandui, didn't get incredible waves but captured some nice moments for the film.
“It's always fun travelling around with friends and creating but hard to let go when time comes to put it out. I'm happy with the film and sits as kind of a sequel to Welcome Elsewhere. This one didn't come as easy as travelling and chasing was always has a beautiful element of the unknown no matter how much you dive into the weather maps.
“The film was largely filmed by good friend Dave Fox. and Cut together buy Kai Neville both people I really want to thank for there contribution and work not only to my film but as a whole to surfing.
“I hope people enjoy it. I hope it takes them on a journey and inspires them to seek travel and explore.”
