Welcome to Lambert’s Bay, where the desert meets the Atlantic Ocean, and, where South African ripper Eli Beukes first discovered his surfing obsession before moving to the country’s surfing epicentre of Cape Town.
Blessed with a generous variety of waves and uncrowded spots, this is where Eli honed his skills to ultimately form him into the surfer he is today. This short film, West by Southwest, tells the story of his first rides with his Dad’s old longboards to his big move to the city, where things are admittedly a lot different.
“Moving to Cape Town where there’s a lot of other kids surfing who are a lot better than me was definitely cool to see and just quite a big change to move into the city,” said Eli.
“Those are the two places that have moulded me into the person I am today.”
Hit play for five minutes of incredibly powerful surfing, and an explosive Eli Beukes showreel.
