Day 3 was an experience i will never forget. Itââ¬â¢s a pretty rare experience to be able to sit on the edge of your board right next to waves as massive, clean, and perect as today. We arrived out at Cloudbreak around 10:30am after crusing past Namotu on the way out and knew it was going to be big when random sets almost threatened to break into the channel inbetween Namotu and Wilkes. The amount of boats and the carnival atmosphere were the first thing we noticed; dozens of boats, all with people hollering and cheering after every successful wave and ââ¬Ëooooââ¬â¢ingââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëaaaaaaaââ¬â¢ingââ¬â¢ after every bad wipeout, while all the time jetskis and smaller boats buzzed around trying to get a better view. I managed to paddle my board as close as i dared on the shoulder and got some of the footage below. A truely awe inspiring experience to be looking and feeling that kind of power coming from the ocean, and even crazier to see people surfing it in real life! Enjoy the video. More tomorrow ââ¬â itââ¬â¢s supposed to be even bigger but iââ¬â¢m not sure thatââ¬â¢s possible!
