Medium Cross-Shore wind
Surf conditions at 7.55 a.m. on Saturday 25th January 2014:
It's all a bit better than I was expecting around here this morning with some decent two to three foot waves curling ashore. Although with nobody in yet, that could be deceptive, there was (just the one) set powering off the Rock which might have been quite a bit bigger.
The wind, so far, is staying just the right side of side shore, allowing those peaky waves (peaky for Harlyn!) to peel a bit. There are some crumbly bits but it really is not too bad.
There's a car load on their way in and one or two others on their way but generally it's fairly quiet. And how mild is it still!? 8 deg C at first light at the end of January, while the sea temperature is still averaging 10 deg C! Mind you, Winter could still yet pounce!
In the meantime though, it's looking okay for some fun surf here this morning, I'd get on it quick though, with a midday high tide and stronger, more onshore winds forecast for this afternoon, it might suddenly deteriorate, even if it does get brighter and lighter!
