Surf conditions at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday 12th February 2014:
That wind is starting to blow again!
Gale force winds are forecast by lunchtime, possibly gusting stronger than that.
At least here it is offshore and so it's shaping those crunchy and already sucky and thick waves into something almost worth surfing.
Low water is at about half ten and so I guess that we might be seeing some hollow and peeling waves grinding in about then but it is only a 1.8 metre low, not really near to those lovely super low tides of a week or two ago.
Still, the swell is big enough and building all the time so that might just help to keep those waves breaking through the tide. We should enjoy some reeling and hollow grinders from midmorning onwards!
Take it easy out there though, it could jump up in size and power quite suddenly!
