Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on Thursday 10th January 2013:
What a stunning pre-dawn sky!
Darkness to the left, brightness to the right, the slimmest sliver of silver moon floating against that palest of blue morning light.
The pin points of fishing boat lights are bobbing in the swell and the seven second sweep of Trevose lighthouse. Yep, it's a light show worth stirring for and all set to an unseasonal birdsong backing track.
But I think that those birds are in for a bit of a shocker this weekend if the weather forecasts are anywhere near accurate! Best leave a little food out for them, eh?
Yep, it's still firing right now.
Three to four feet glassy walls are folding themselves around the back of the Reef, set waves marching into Booby's. The breeze is light and offshore, manicuring those very pleasant looking waves into almost cartoon sketches.
Be quick though! That wind is forecast to strengthen and slip onshore pretty soon, probably within the next hour or two, probably by low tide. Oh and the rain is due back in a minute too!
But right now? It's glorious!
