Surf conditions at 7.10 a.m. on Tuesday 19th February 2013:
The wind has finally eased up overnight allowing a morning of bliss to unfold down in the bay.
The surf is a wee bit smaller than yesterday morning but still a lively three to four feet. Three to four feet of oilly glass right now with the lightest of offshore, south easterly breezes just adding that little extra loveliness to it. Loveliness and hollowness! There are some occasional barreling screamers zipping across the Reef this morning!
With a massive sunburst dawn exploding across the dunes and reflecting in the glassy waves, along with the pleasant chit chat of dawn chorus birdsong, well, it doesn't get much better than this!
Let's just hope that it can get warmer though!
There is a very picturesque but chilling dusting of frost on the foreshore and amongst the marram, a good old scrape of the 'screen necessary to get going this morning but that sun is easing itself into action so it should be more comfy in a moment.
Have yourselves a beautiful day!
And with the school half term holidays upon us the kids are going to be frothing in these conditions. So to celebrate the groms being on the loose, we are doing a little 'GROM SALE!'
